Lake Cherokee is not just a body of water surrounded by homes. It is a tight-knit community with many opportunities for fellowship, activities, sports, and clubs. 

Cherokee Country Golf

Cherokee Golf Club invites you to visit and play a round. It is a challenging 9-hole par 70 course that will help you with your iron play, and includes a few holes where you can test your long ball skills. There is also a driving range where you can practice at your own pace. Located on Lake Cherokee, the course affords a great view of the lake and surrounding homes. We are open to the public with memberships av available. The club hosts multiple tournaments each year and offers great rates for business, school, non-profit or personal group events. Come experience the beauty and ambiance of the course, you will most likely want to come back again and again. We look forward to seeing you.

First Friends

This social club meets for lunch the third Thursday of each month at area restaurants and often features a guest speaker. The group was originally formed as a “ladies” club, but today is a great way to meet your neighbors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 

Fishing Club

Dedicated to the sport of fishing, this group can trace its roots back to birth of Lake Cherokee. The lake boasts of a wide variety of fish, and the club maintains fish nurseries to replenish the lake’s stock. The Fishing Club is open to all shareholders, and the club meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Lake Cherokee Activity Center (NK 20). An annual fishing tournament is held each year. 

Photography Club

Lake Cherokee Photography Club

The Lake Cherokee Photography Club is for all lake residents with an interest in photography. They are focused on sharing images, improving images, and sharing technical information. They have group projects and occasionally professional speakers. They encourage participation regardless of skill level. The club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month

Lake Cherokee Preservation Club

Preservation of the lake’s natural beauty is the mission of this group who promotes safe, responsible recreational use. They work to develop innovative ideas and solutions to benefit the lake today and for future generations.  Please visit their Facebook page for more information.

Bridge Club

Good fun and conversation go along with this weekly bridge game. These players put their cards on the table every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with a pot luck on the first Wednesday. All shareholders and skill levels are invited to play.
